What Does Your Trash Say About You?

Mine says:

1. My kids had a very unhealthy breakfast (pop tarts, chocolate chip granola bar and maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal) and lunch (Uncrustables). Someone thought a banana was a good choice but I see at least 3/4 of it in the trash.

2. I was too lazy to wash that soup can and put it in the recycling pile 5 steps away from the stove.

3. My kids picked some beautiful flowers for me and they were on the table for a week too long. There was a rose, and sticks left... and the vase? ...a water bottle with the top cut off... which somehow DID end up in the recycling (maybe because I can get money for recycling that one!)

4. I didn't cook dinner last night which explains the Top Ramen wrappers.

5. Oooh there is a dryer sheet, so I must have been doing laundry! Or maybe Luke was just cleaning out the garbage under the couch.

6. I am photographing my trash so I must have lots of free time? Maybe I should use that time to cook more!

And while were are keeping it real... this is my son's room. One redeeming thing is that his sheets are in the wash! ... but only because he had a bloody nose and it looked like there was a murder in his bed.

and my daughter's room...

and my front room... which is usually the only clean room in the house. But that proves my Facebook status that says "Emilie & Aaron did Algebra by the fire" see... real text book, scratch paper and calculator... "Algebra by the fire" really was not a euphemism for "other things" ;)

Here is the nursery... I am sorting hand me downs and putting newborn stuff in the wash. The pile in the corner is all the hangers and tags off the new outfits.

Hey, I got an award though!

This is from Nichole from The Pumpkin Seed... I totally dig her blog and LOVE her name because it has an H in it and that makes her special :)

Requirements for accepting this award are that I must list five of my favorite addictions and then pass along the award to five other fabulous blogs.

Five addictions:
1. Blankets - I love all things cozy! Blankets are always around despite the weather... I love being cold, because that means I can curl up in a blanket :)

2. Starbucks - If I had to "quit" Starbucks I am sure I could, but it would be a very hard withdrawal. This goes along with my love of cozy... I drink my coffee hot all year round!

3. The Computer - I love my blogs, the news, the weather, Google, games, spell check... I am very dependent on the internet for winning fights as to what movie that actor was in... ya know, the important stuff! I am the queen of useless info because of this addiction!

4. Food - I can't express in words how much I like to eat. I have always been this way. It's not a comfort thing or something I do only in times of stress... food just tastes good! I am very unhealthy though because of my metabolism, I don't process foods correctly - I am always borderline anemic and now apparently not processing sugar correctly either - so please don't leave a comment about how skinny I am or how much you hate me for being able to eat whatever I want... I'll probably die before you ;)

5. Riding in the car... especially when it's winter. I used to love to drive but at 18 got in a very scary accident and I much rather be the passenger now. I will take ANY road trip! I love talking in the car, looking at the scenery and of course eating snacks and drinking Starbucks! I love having the heater set to blow only on my feet and throw in a blanket to snuggle up with - ahhh ... BLISS!
I pass this award to:
Vicki @ Not So SAHM

Rhonda @ Scooterblu's Whimsy

3 people... and that's is all, because I say so ;)

I am so with you on the blankets. For some reason I am always drawn to them while shopping. And I too love to go on car rides. We sometimes just drive around town to look at houses so I can ride around.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for sharing your house in distress. I'm glad to know I am a part of something larger than myself! My upstairs has popcorn on the gameroom floor as we speak/type.

I have the same metabolism issue. I look healthy but my heart screams otherwise. I am about to do something about it since I would like to hang with the grandchildren one day!

that and blankets ... and hot coffee all day long all year round.

Hehe, I loved the trash pic! I was laughing the whole time :)

I love blankets and Starbucks...oh, how I love them! Like you said, they're cozy--I love being cozy!

That is too funny!! The whole post. I was gonna say, just because folks are skinny doesn't mean they are healthy. Take my husband for instance...tall and lean, me, not really. He is no healthier, just lucky metabolism. I do hope my daughter gets it though. ;)

dryinit-thought you would get a kick out of the word ver.

Thanks for keepin it real! Those bedroom pics make me feel so much better about my kids rooms.

The trash pic was hilarious. Can't we all relate to that? I know I can. But, hey...I thought chocolate chip granola bars were counted in the healthy category. They are at my house. I make myself feel better about it because I buy the fiber One bars. HA! HA!

I can give you the number for a lady who "helps mommy clean", as I tell my son. Her rates are great and she makes it worth your while! ;)

Too funny! My trash would say that I eat a lot of junk food and waste way too many paper towels.

yor post was great way for me to start my morning!!! I feel like I am not alone in this world.
I am not even going to venture to take pics of my garbage for fear of what you would think of me! :)
Pretty sure there are a couple cans of diet coke in there!
I love the answers. I too am a lover of blankets! I love to be cold because the whole wrapping up is so comforting to me!
I love blankets so much, that I bought one off of QVC. Not just any blaket, one that you can put in the microwave. It also has aromatherapy crap in it too! Just imagine-your freezing-u throw your softet blankie in the micro for 45 seconds and then you are in heaven! (well, at least until it gets cold!) Too bad this blankie doesn't get added to my collection. I bought for my MIL for her birthday. She loves that kind of stuff as well!!!
DANG QVC!

Trash? I'll tell you something that I'm sure doesn't happen in most houses. She always wash wrappers, plastic bags ... before she throws them into d dustbin. Even her rubbish is clean ... What do u think of that ...

Girl, you are hilarious. You took a picture of your trash. And I do believe that Algebra is a euphemism...but I won't tell. I may have to copy both ideas...

And thanks for the award!!! Have I already said thank you for that? I've already got tryptophan brain and I haven't even eaten the turkey yet. THANKS!!!

The trash can beside my computer says that I eat lots of Pop Tarts while working on the computer!
