Lifting Lilly in Prayer

I am up to my eyeballs in rearranging the house but I wanted to take a second to ask you to pray for my friend Elise's daughter Lilly. All the details can be found by clicking one of the buttons below. You can get your own Lilly button at Elise's page as well.

Be Mine ~ Valentines Decor

I am so proud of myself that I

first, decorated for Valentines Day on January 3rd

and second, actually have more than one piece of pink V-day decor!

Some of you know that the reason I created my mini swaps was because I only had decor for two holidays, Halloween and Christmas. I now have a little bit of something for every holiday, even the obscure ones ;)

Here is my fireplace. The whole display cost less than $10 bucks! The three pots were only $1 each from Michael's, the hearts in the pots were 90% after Christmas at Joann's so they were about 20 cents each. The white beaded garland was $1.99 at Joann's (also after Christmas) and the toooo cute circle garland was a gift from Jen.

My Valentines Day tree in the kitchen. I have been adding pink and red ornaments as I find them. The tree was about $4 at Big Lots after Christmas.

Valentines Day Pennant Banner

I got my new sewing machine yesterday and got right to using it. I made a Valentines day pennant banner. I just copied the banners Jen made me last year.
I love the new fun stitches it makes and it was SEW easy to use. My camera batteries died while I was taking pictures but I did get one shot of what I did with one of the scraps of fabric.
No more empty frames laying around this house :) When my camera charges I'll take more pictures of the banner and the rest of my V-day decor.

Comments

Just a note: I have to moderate my comments now so they may not appear right away. I had 8 comments on my last post and 4 of them were spam. It was getting so bad but I didn't want to have to put the verification code up again so I just decided to moderate the comments and weed out the junk myself :)

I CAN sew... well kinda

Tatum got a sewing machine for Christmas and as I was trying to get it working, I got out my own machine, blew off the dust and tried to sew something. Listen people, it's been at least 5 years since I have sewn something.
For the life of me I cannot get these first two picture to be straight, tilt your head for a minute.
I made Brody a crinkle taggy square out of some too cute monster flannel. I figured this would be a easy first project and it was for the most part. Except Brody wanted nothing to do with the finished project!
Here he is throwing it. It landed on my footDon't look where the blue arrow is pointing... I told you it was my first time sewing in 5 years! Oh wait the picture is too small... ok, then I wont tell you that there is a big ol' loop of thread there... I just wont tell you that.
Here he is reaching down to pick up the blanket just to throw it out again.I am such a stinker! While I was cropping the first batch of photos I looked over and caught Brody with the taggy, sucking his thumb. I guess he likes it after all!

The idea/pattern for this crinkle taggy square came from Joy's Hope but "Happy Jenny" made Brody a couple (much better than mine) of these last year.
